balkan black box ist das bislang einzige deutsche Festival für Film, Musik, Ausstellungen, Literatur, Debatte, Theater und Performance aus und über Südosteuropa. Die postsozialistischen Länder des Balkans sind für den Westen nach wie vor eine "black box", denn im Inneren der Gesellschaften passieren unverstandene Dinge. bbb sieht es als seinen Auftrag, an diese box zu öffnen und den Balkan differenziert - bisweilen auch polemisch - darzustellen. Balkan-typisch vermittelt sich der politische Anspruch in erster Linie durch Kunst und Kultur.
